Ráday Street Could Become a Pedestrian Street Again!

Following the renewal of Bakáts Square and its surrounding area, the Municipality of Ferencváros is now launching the regeneration of the rest of the Ráday Quarter. The programme, which will begin in the coming months, aims to create a greener, quieter, yet vibrant neighbourhood. As part of the project, the current traffic system will be reorganised, and the Municipality will also gather the opinions of local residents about the planned changes. Please take a few minutes by 9 August to complete the questionnaire below!

The overall objective is to restore the area's former prestige and once again establish it as one of Budapest's leading cultural and gastronomic districts. The project also aims to improve the quality of public spaces, hospitality venues and cultural institutions, while enhancing residents' quality of life and increasing the value of the neighbourhood.

The project includes:

• transforming Ráday Street into a pedestrian street;
• improving mobility for local residents;
• promoting pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly, climate-conscious transport;
• improving accessibility for all;
• preparing for the expansion of green spaces and the implementation of sustainable urban solutions;
• rationalising the parking system;
• creating a coherent public-space design that reflects the character of the historic neighbourhood.

The Municipality is first inviting residents to complete this questionnaire on the renewal of the Ráday Quarter. Following the start of the school year, a second survey will focus on travel patterns related to local schools, as well as the transport needs of students and their parents.

Completing the questionnaire is anonymous and takes approximately 3–5 minutes. By sharing your views, you can directly contribute to shaping the future of the Ráday Quarter in line with the needs and expectations of the local community.
